Aquion partners with Virtuozzo to bring flexible, affordable cloud alternatives to legacy virtualisation platforms such as VMWare
Sydney, Australia – 8 November 2024
Aquion, a specialist in value-added software distribution, has announced a strategic distribution partnership with Virtuozzo to bring more flexible, affordable cloud solutions to organisations across Australia. Virtuozzo software powers upwards of 700,000 virtual data centre environments globally.
Virtuozzo is a global software provider that enables infrastructure-as-a-service and platform-as-a-service for CSPs, MSPs, and enterprises. Virtuozzo offers a compelling alternative to hyperscale public cloud and legacy virtualisation platforms such as VMware by optimising, streamlining, and simplifying the open-source cloud platform.
“In these challenging economic times, businesses are increasingly seeking flexible, cost-effective cloud solutions that eliminate the complexities and restrictions of traditional virtualisation platforms,” said Stephen Balicki, Aquion CEO. “Virtuozzo presents a powerful alternative, and we’re excited to offer this solution to local businesses, empowering them to overcome longstanding cost and operational hurdles.”
Through the partnership, Aquion becomes a distributor of Virtuozzo Hybrid Infrastructure in the region. Virtuozzo Hybrid Infrastructure is a hyper-converged cloud platform that combines traditional virtualization, cloud-native Kubernetes orchestration, high-performance storage, and networking in a multi-tenant, self-service solution that may have a 25% and 30% lower cost of ownership than VMware.
Commenting on the partnership, Alex Fine, Virtuozzo CEO said: “Australia has always had strong demand for sovereign cloud solutions delivered and supported by Australian companies. Aquion is a fantastic distribution partner, and we’re excited about the potential to bring Virtuozzo solutions to local businesses through Aquion’s great network of value-added resellers.”
